Melissa Gilbert and Timothy Busfield In Howell Michigan

Posted on: March 10th, 2014 No Comments

It was so nice to help two of the most down to earth people I have ever met.  Below are a few shots of their home in Howell MI.  Their desire to revitalize the town and come back here to live in Michigan is truly a wonderful thing!

African Safari in Tanzania February 2014

Posted on: February 24th, 2014 No Comments

Here you will see some of the many photos I took while on Safari in Tanzania Africa.  This by far was one of the best vacations I have ever experienced.  The beautiful wildlife combined with the scenery made this trip spectacular.  I hope you enjoy viewing these photos as much as I enjoyed shooting them.

These scenes and animals were taken throughout the trip. We stayed in numerous places starting from Arusha located at the foot of Mt. Meru, Tanzania’s second highest mountain to Tarangire with Tanzania’s largest elephant population to the Rift Valley to Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater to Ndutu and Lake Manyara.

I thought it would be fun to post my latest dive trip photos for you.  We had so much fun in Roatan.  The scuba diving was phenomenal!  If any of you are fellow divers out there and want to share great underwater pics and or other great dive sites, let me know.   We have been throughout most of the Caribbean diving: Turks Caicos, Belize Turneffe Island, Cayman Islands, Bonaire and more.  I’d love to exchange dive pics and ideas.  To see my latest underwater pics, click  here

The Playing of Taps In Vienna, where I was born! This is beautiful!

Posted on: December 16th, 2010 No Comments

TAPSi – Click to see the most amazing video!

The conductor of the orchestra is Andre Rieu from Austria. The young lady, Melissa Venema, age 13, is the trumpet soloist.  Her rendition of  TAPS  will make your hair stand on end.  Many of us may never have heard taps played in its entirety, for all of the men and women that have died for us to have the freedom we have inAmerica.  Miss Venema’s rendition simply is beautiful.

Here is “Taps” played in its entirety. The Original version of ‘Taps’ was called ‘Last Post’, and was written by Daniel Butterfield in 1801. It was rather lengthy and formal, as you will hear in this clip, so in 1862 it was shortened to 24 notes and re-named ‘Taps’. Melissa Venema is playing it on a trumpet whereas the original was played on a bugle.  Turn on your speakers … sit back … and enjoy it
